Growth: Your First Steps

Would doubling your net revenue over the next 30 days get you excited? How about growing your business tenfold? Keeping up with a thriving business is an exciting sign of success. No matter what size your business is currently, you can achieve growth using specific steps. Step one is identifying what you want. So what do you want? Sounds easy right? If it is so easy, every business would be successfully growing. Take a few minutes with me right now to truly identify your desire, and then I’ll show you how you can take practical steps to achieve that desire!

What Do You Truly Want?

We all think we know our desires, but how often do we truly sit down, write them down, and set out to achieve them? Find somewhere you can focus for thirty minutes today, and ask yourself, “What do I want?” I’m not talking about getting a new car, a trip on a cruise, or more money just for money’s sake. I want you to think about the big picture of your life.

What do you want to do with it? What do you want to become? What do you want to be known for? On a blank document, freely brainstorm personal priorities that answer, “What do I want?” Don’t worry about what order they are in. Just let your imagination run wild! After you have a handful of desires, I want you to think about your BUSINESS priorities, and perform the same exercise. List as many as you can.

Think on Purpose

Once you have a good list of desires, it’s time to Think on Purpose. In the past, I’ve found myself in a dilemma when trying to choose between personal and business priorities. “Balance” is a term advertisers always throw at this issue. The truth I learned is that the two parts of our lives must interact, blend, and make room for one another based on the seasons of life we find ourselves in. Now I want you to keep that in mind and narrow down your priorities. Look at your lists separately, and come up with your top three from each list. Circle or highlight them. Lastly, Think on Purpose about all six together, but here is the tricky part: rank them from most important to least important. When doing this, think about which you feel most excited about, be good at accomplishing, and generally enjoy!

The Next Step...

How does it feel to finally identify your desires? Are you as excited as I was the first time? Prioritizing your desires is only the first step to growth.

Step two is to ask yourself “WHY do I want this?” It’s not as easy as it sounds though, so don’t take the next step alone. I want to hear what your top priority is, and I want to see it grow from practice to performance! Contact me directly or visit to learn how we can achieve your desire.
